You should have gotten a card enclosed with the adapter for a free copy of
EZ-SCSI. This is what Corel SCSI used to be, since Corel has sold their
SCSI division back to Adaptec (I believe, not sure, but haven't seen
CorelSCSI for a while…)
I got the card, mailed it in, and received the EZ-SCSI kit within less than
a week (quick service!)..
A lot better than spending $60 on the ASP-0410 kit from Adaptec, and I
believe that EZ-SCSI is the way they are moving anyway.
Chris… You are absolutely correct. I found the card stuck in the back of
the Novell booklet. You are quite correct that this is a better deal than
shelling out half the price of the card for a set of drivers that only work
with their card. I'm sure they wouldn't have been amenable to swapping for
the Novell and SCO drivers they did include that are useless to me ;-).
I don't understand why they didn't just include the EZ-SCSI stuff in the
box, instead of going through this rigamarole. Of course, no one ever
guaranteed the universe would make sense.

HEY!!!! <grin> We're still very much alive, kicking, and our own company!!
Adaptec is bundling our drivers with their 1522 and 1542 SCSI cards, in
solutions called the SCSI Direction Plus and the SCSI Master Plus,
respectively. But CorelSCSI on it's own can be obtained from your local
dealer, via regular distributors such as Ingram Micro, Calabco, Marshall
Industries, Merisel and Tech Data. Let me know if I can supply any other
details for you.

Bryan, I take it you are with CorelSCSI! ? Is there anyway CORELSCSI! can
read the format produced by a Trantor card on an Adaptec 1742A card. They
format a SYQUEST 555 differently. Regards,

Sorry, Hal, but currently I would think that the format's are probably too
different to be compatible. I can't confirm this positively, as we haven't
a Trantor card to test with (yet…). Let me know if I can answer any
other questions for you!
