It was business-related — and just browsing, Lou. I write about CD-ROM, multimedia and infotainment-related items for Canadian computer publications, primarily Toronto Computes although there are other publications here and in your country. (I'm a member of the Computer Press Association.) So largely I was there to gain contacts and aquire information and products to review. I did one story while I was there to help pay the freight, etc. I live in Hamilton, which is near Toronto — actually between Toronto and Niagara Falls if you know the area. I got into computer writing after I was disabled from my daily newspaper job some time ago. I was looking for a hobby, liked computers and decided a few years later I should try writing again. The problem was to find a niche, something I was interested in, something I could write knowledgeably abou and something that wasn't already filled to over-flowing with established writers. That was just when CD-ROM was starting to make its mark on the home and small-business market and so serendipity led me to a specialization that I find fascinating and at that time still open enough to allow a newcomer such as myself to become established. I think I probably wrote the first CD-ROM features for a couple of Canada's popular computer publications and I'm still one of the few people in the country specializing in review/coverage of the subject. Which is why I'm always curious about such things as DAK — there, got it right — unbundling its discs in a most interesting move. Cheers!
