Here are a couple of possible solutions for you based on Onlien Computer Systems OPTI-NET CD-ROM networking product: 1) Use the OPTI-NET for DOS (workstation based server) or OPTI-NET NLM (NetWare 3.11 based server) to network multiple CD-ROM drive 'stacks'. Up to 28 CD-ROM drives, 7 per SCSI controller, can be easily attached to a single high performance server. Greater numbers of drives can be attached with custom configurations; call for details. Use the OPTI-NET for DOS or OPTI-NET NLM product to network multiple Pioneer '6-packs'. Each Pioneer unit has a single drive and 6 CD-ROM disks, and up to 7 may be connected to a single SCSI controller. This is a much lower performance alternative than using dedicated drives, but may be appropriate for your environment. Call me if you would like to discuss your environment and possible solutions in more detail. Chris Magyar Online Computer Systems, Inc. (800) 922-9204 / (301) 428-3700

Chris… thanks for the info re: Opti-Net CD-Rom network schemes. I'll have to talk to the management types and see just waht exactly they want to do (all I was told was "Dig up info on multi-cd-rom units"), and I'll get back to you as soon as I know what's going on! (grin) Thanks again… John … TLC
