Hi everyone there, I am new with CD-ROM, please excuse if I sound silly, recently upgraded my computer with Media Vision Pro Audio 16 MPC upgrade kit that comes with NEC internal CD-ROM drive, enjoying every minute of it, but is having problem accessing one of my CD-ROM, Battlechess MPC, no matter what I do, I can't access to my drive e: (CD-ROM drive) if this particular CD-ROM is in the drive, can any one help?, thanks.

You will need to load a hardware driver for the PAS board, then MSCDEX which will create a DOS drive letter you can access your CD-ROM from. Check your manuals for proper instructions.

I myself have been unable to get the BattleChess MPC CD-ROM to work properly under windows. It does run with some difficulty in DOS mode though. -Clarke

Thanks very much for sharing your experience, I still have no luck getting this particular CD-ROM working, glad to know it may not be my own hardware problem

You should call Interplay, the company that makes the disk. You need a Revision 4 (I think) version of the CD-ROM to work with the NEC-83/84J that comes with the MV kit. I know because I had the same problem. Tell them you have an NEC drive. Regards.
