What is a 3DO? 32-Bit RISC CPU, Graphics Processing Speed To 50 times Faster than Current Videogame Consoles and Typical Personal Computers. Twin Graphics Processors that Render up to 64 Million Pixels per Second with Interpolation. 16 Million Displayable Colors. Full-Color, Full-Motion, Full-Screen Digital Video at 30 Frames-Per-Second.

Thank you for the 3DO commercial. <g> I am flattered that you think I could make sense from your message. So let me get this straight. You have this 3DO machine of some kind with a 32-bit RISC CPU in it. There are also twin graphics processors that render really fast. Questions: 1. What do these graphics processors render? Are you talking about 3D files such as 3DS meshes, or something else? 2. Is there some kind of user interface involved (ie. is it kind of like a PC) or do you plug it into the PC and download the data from there via some kind of program on the PC? I am having trouble (a) picturing what the hardware looks like and (b) imagining the process you would go through to put an animation sequence on this thing. Can you fill in the blanks?

What is the 3DO? It is a video game. My bud Steve was doing a project for SEGA and 3DO. He called it the 3Dno. What does it look like? Like a cross between a CD player and a Nintendo game.

And right before Yost signed off, he said they're porting 3DS r4 to the 3DO, but I managed to capture the message before the Autodesk sysop purged it. And just this morning, I saw a little dark-haired wiry guy at Burger King wearing a Hawaiian shirt, wearing a dive mask… 🙂
