Does anyone know the wherabouts of a file called FLCFILES.ZIP, which contains a
written description of the .3DS file format, or alternatively, does anyone have
the document itself.

There is a current document and software developer kit for release 2
called "The 3D Studio File ToolKit". Call 800-879-4233 or 800-228-3601.

CServe file prefixes are limited to six characters, so it can't be called
FLCFILES.ZIP. I think there's one called FLCSPC.ZIP, but haven't looked
recently. Try entering one of the libraries and typing: BRO ALL KEY:SPEC or
KEY:FORMAT.
