Kevin, I have spoke with you a few times on the phone, and you referred me to some folks in houston to order my CDK. I did this on the agreement that I would be getting the upgrade for free. Now here I am (w/CDK 1) trying to get them to send me CDK 2. They will not respond to my calls or anything…. what I am wondering is this: Is there another dealer I can goto that will honor that same deal. All I want to do is get the upgrade and move on from here. I am extremely interested in CDK (and will later be purchasing 3D Studio 4) but I do need someone to help me out and point me in the right direction on how to get the software, and possibly some training in both (3DS and CDK). (Little about me: System Support Analyst – CIS BS Degree, currently working on ECNE for Novell, etc etc. – Thanks for any help Wade Thurman

Hi Wade: <<They will not respond to my calls or anything…. what I am wondering is this: Is there another dealer I can goto that will honor that same deal. All I want to do is get the upgrade and move on from here.>> This is not good. I will forward your name and e-mail address to our Sales Dept. so they can follow-up and make sure you get the upgrade, which you've essentially paid for already. It might also help, if I could get a phone number from you. I'll try to get someone on this for you in the next couple of days. By the way, what dealer were you originally working with? -Kevin

Wow! Thanks for the quick response. Biodyne out of Houston. I have tried and tried to be nice and patient with them, called them several times but to no avail. I am very new to all of this, and it would seem there is TONS of good stuff here for me to learn, but alas, this also costs me time. Any suggestions on doing things quick around here? My main interests are of course CDK and 3DS as I have told you. Can you tell me if there are any training places here for that (DALLAS) for a possible certification in that stuff? If there is such certifications. Lovin Autodesk and the products they make! (I watched the 3ds 4.0 demo tape that was sent to me ) I am hooked 🙂 Wade

<<Biodyne out of Houston.>> Great, I'll have someone look into it for you to see what the problem is. Getting your upgrade should be easier than this. <<Any suggestions on doing things quick around here?>> It looks to me like you're on the right track. BTW- Got a fast modem? <<Can you tell me if there are any training places here for that (DALLAS) for a possible certification in that stuff?>> 3D Studio classes are available at many colleges across the country, some with certification programs. Nothing for CDK available in Dallas right now that I'm aware of. Closest thing that comes to mind is the CAD Institute, located in Phoenix, AZ. Hope that helps! -Kevin

Thanks. As for a modem, well yes I do have a 28.8 – but doesnt seem very reliable (irq conflicts, due to the stupid modem not being adjustable) I didnt pay for it tho – a friend is letting me use it. So I have yet to test it with CServe. I have used a little Supra 2400+ because it is very reliable. But nethertheless I will try it in a few minutes and see what happens. I understand that there is a way to script things? See the SOLE reason I joined CServe was the Autodesk forums. (NO JOKE) I logged in, and went straight to 'asoft' I do not care about all the piddly stuff here. ASOFT is what I wanted. So I am here. I will check some colleges out here and see. Thanks. CDK and Virtual Reality period in Dallas seems to be scarce. Is it me? Wade
