Please call/fax GVP Technical Services to get a return
authorization number for the Spectrum. There is a modification
needed for SOME boards when using an NEC FG-series monitor. The FG
monitors use a pin on the VGA connector that is designated as "no
connect" so this pin is not connected on the Spectrum card. A
modification will be made to the board to fix this.
Actually, the fix is nothing more than getting an adaptor to ground
the unused pin. Macintosh dealers carry a similar adaptor for this
exact same problem. It seems that the 'standards' for VGA output
need a bit of stretching to accomodate new monitors and new features,
and the actual standard hasn't been updated in quite a while.
