The Matrox MGA Impression is a truly great piece of hardware. I suggest the 3/Z/V or PRO (release pending) versions. The only drawback is pathetic VGA chipset, so any VESA displays (flic playback using vesa drivers, and 3DS until Vibrant finishes the MGA driver) will be slow. I own the 3/Z/V and love it.

John, Are you saying the Vesa speed will increase after they finish their drivers?

Not the VESA, because that is at the mercy of the card's poor VGA chipset. But when Vibrant finishes the 3D Studio driver it will bypass the VGA and access the blindingly fast graphics accelerator. Although the accelerator is more optimized for raster than vector, it'll still be very fast.
