#Card for NEC 3D?
5 messages in this thread
I am looking for a VLB graphics card that is compatible with my old
NEC 3D monitor and 3DS R3. I would like to be able to display:
1) 640x480x256, and 65K or 16M for Materials-Editor and flics
2) 800x600x256, and 65K or 16M for stills
3) 1024x768x256 (interlaced) for the Main-Display
I just installed a Diamond Viper which supports 1) and 2), but not
3). Anybody know if the Graphite "does" interlaced?
Yes, the Graphite does interlaced, in fact it does just about anything! You
can set it to whatever monitor you have, and it will support all modes on the
monitor.
Thanks, Greg. That is encouraging news!
For the same price you payed for your Diamond Viper (I assume between
$2-300) you can buy a monitor capable of displaying non-interlaced
1024×768, not a great monitor, but better than interlaced in any
case. Interlaced monitors are a dying breed.
$2-300 for the Viper?! Eeeek! Where do you shop?! <g> Around here
I've seen it for $400+ and felt fortunate to get it from JDR
Microdevices for (just) $339.
Yes, I know my interlaced 3D is a bit over-the-hill, but the Viper and
the motherboard upgrade (from 386/33 to 486/66–wheeee!) were all I
can afford for now (R3 came first, of course). Thanks for your
response.
