Anybody: Anyone here know of anybody who might be interested in acquiring a pair of old Novell barebone 8-bit dedicated stations? I really don't have any idea of their worth. They have 8088-2 cpus, network connectors hardwired to the motherboard, 1Mb of RAM, and XT-class slots and keyboards. They were manufactured by Novell under the "Santa Clara Systems" brand name. If anyone has any interest in these at all, or knows anybody who might, please let me know… =Chris

Chris: > If anyone has any interest in these… Yea, I do. What kind of network connector is included? I couldn't use 10BASE-2 or -5, but AIC or 10BASE-T would work. Are they diskless? Do you have the docs and disks? (Even diskless, you'd need to install something on the server to support them.) What kind of video is it (e.g., CGA)? Not to influence your pricing decision <G>, but I just payed $100 apiece for a pair of old true-blue CGA XTs w/ 20 MB HDs. I'd go $75 apeice for 10BASE-T, a floppy and CGA, more for a HD and/or EGA, less for AIC and/or diskless. I have a requirement for one or two machines that just need to be _processors on the net_, no big performance monsters. Pricing is negotiable, and I'll pay shipping, of course. Let me know… Fish <'><

Fish: My knowledge of network hardware is EXTREMELY limited…I'll have to open one of `em up & get back to^C BASE-2, thickwire/large COAX/10BASE-5 or Unshieled Twisted Pair/UTP/ 10BASE-T; we use the later), but the prices for those have gone down a lot lately. I regularly buy them for about $50. > No drives installed, but, they have available connectors … Do you mean ribbon Control-C Intercepted Menu 1 Continue 2 Return to menu/prompt 3 Return to forum top 4 Exit this forum 5 Log off Enter choice: 2
