How come in the ads of magaizines I see like sunbeams comming throught windows in like a house, and there is no function to do that?

You can do this no problem. Here are two ways: 1) Use the SMOKE IPAS from the Yost Group (R3 upgrades to come) 2) Create an object (cones usually do the trick) that simulates the shaft of light entering the window, then attach appropriate opacity map, and play with the self illumination parameters, and BINGO! Of the two, SMOKE IPAS is probably the better looking, but with nice maps the object method can be beautiful, too.

On the chapel question. Yes. They use an object filled with smoke. The chapel mesh is on the R3 CD so you can see how the effect was accomplished for yourself.

The cathedral animation on the demo reel uses SMOKE IPAS, while the one on the R3 CD ROM uses the geometry method (I think… I haven't looked at it since installing R3).
