Anybody know what system the monitor editor just uploaded was
tested on? It locks right up on the first mouseclick after loading
under AmigaDOS 2.1. I tried NTSC 640×200 and 640×400 screenmodes with
no change in behavior — any suggestions on getting it running?
You neglected to name the specific program, but if you are speaking of MONED v2
by Raul A. Sobon, it works fine on my 4000 running 3.1.
Yup, MonEd v2. You're on a 4000 running 3.1, eh? No fair! Heh, heh.

Moned2 worked great with my system – an Amiga 2000,, WB2.1, and full ECS
chipset (Super Denise). It allowed me to hide borders on Productivity
screens, for instance.

Jonathan, you may have hit on it — MonEd might be going directly
talking to the Super Denise rather than checking first. I've got the
ECS Agnus but still the older Denise. (Not for long, though — new
Denise on the horizon…)

Once thing is kind of weird, tho…my Workbench comes up in standard, OCS
640×200. Although it has no effect on this mode, MonEd does come up OK.
Perhaps the author is making assumptions…I think that the SuperDenise is a
good upgrade (and cheap!). Since I had an old Multsync, it was a no brainer,
and AP is much more pleasant than before.

Hmm — are you saying that MonEd won't let you edit the 640×200
mode, or that it puts you in that mode when you call MonEd? Either
way, sounds like the super Denise is the way to go.

MonEd ghosts most of its sliders in 640×200, and starts on the WB as well.
The unghosted sliders have no effect in this mode, either.
Yup, I think a Super Denise will give you the desired fuctionality…at
least on ECS screens.

I have got the Super Denise and Big Agnus too, but on my machine
(A2000, WB2.1, ALF-SCSI Controller, 4MB), the MonEd 2 also hangs
immidiately after starting.

Hmm. What screenmode are you using to try it, Markus? If it doesn't do
anything with 640×200 or 640×400, it may not be much help to me anyway,
but your note's got me curious now…

I use it on my A1200 with ADos 3.0. Works great!
(I was able to tweak my Super72 to sync faster on my Nec3D, not to mention
cutting down on the borders on the other modes.)

Tom: Moned works great on my system also, 4000 with 3.1. It allowed me
to get rid of those ugly black borders on my NEC 3D using the DblNTSC
drivers.
Ditto: works great on 1200 with NEC 3D. Forget those new preference
drivers…get this to get rid of ugly black borders!! Gary on
