P.S. Great work on seaQuest!
Thanks re seaQuest.
LWPRO is an all LightWave Nesletter. Each issue deals with a
different subject(s). The first issue was on bones and displacement
maps, the issue that will ship 1st week in Dec is about Modeler.
It has a heavy emphasis on 3.0 versions of LW and Modeler but many
things will apply.
Prices for a year's subscription (12 issues) is 48.00 if you are a
subscriber to VTU and 72.00 if not. For 84.00 you can subscribe to
both.
You can call 408-366-8220 for more info or to subscribe.
Just had to jump in and add my congratulations on the most recent
SQ episodes. I saw the Halloween episode and the sunken liner
sequences were OUTSTANDING! The best I've seen yet. I also like the
Bermuda triangle under water sequences. But you'd think that they
could buy a surge protector for SQ! 😉
>my congratulations on the most recent SQ episodes.
Thank you very much. :^)
I would also like to send my congratulations and ask about the Halloween
episode, how was the `layered stuff' on the sunken ship done, with clip
mapping?
<<< Tony D. Tracer >>>
I assume by layered stuff. you are referring to the stuff hanging on
all of the lines and steps and stuff. That was all modeled flat
polygons (using the sketch tool).
Greg Teegarden was the one responsible for just about ALL of the shots
in that episode. Instead of Knight of Shadows, we were calling it
Greg of Shadows.
>I assume by layered stuff. you are referring to the stuff hanging on all
Yeah, that's it.
>That was all modeled flat polygons (using the sketch tool).
Unbelieveable!
>Greg Teegarden was the one responsible
Well Greg, congratulations on a job well done. You are listening, right?

Oops, guess I got my From: and To: mixed up! Sorry about that. 🙂
I hope John sees my comment anyway.
Have you gotten yer Imagine upgrade yet? I just got mine today. Haven't
had a chance to PLAY yet tho.
Yep, it was in my mailbox today! Haven't tryed it yet either. I also
got a call from my dealer. After all this time the new motherboard
and CPU board are in. We go in for a "guts" transplant Thursaday! All
in all a good day! 🙂
Sounds like a good day. I fiddled with a couple of the new Textures last
night. NICE but the Essence Textures arre "BROKE"
>NICE but the Essence Textures arre "BROKE"
Yep Essence Textures are "BROKE"! 🙁 I sent an internet message to Steve
Worley asking if he planned an upgrade to support Imagine 3.0. No answer
yet.

Let me know if ye hear anything. Tho the new Texture's will surely keep me
busy a while.
>Oops, guess I got my From: and To: mixed up! Sorry about that. 🙂
Does this mean you are going to retract your congratulations? :^(

Of course not! 😉

Thanks John! I subscribed to VTU 3 weeks ago, so I'll qualify for
the lower subscription rate <g>. Is there a way I can get that first
issue? I'll call the number you gave and subscribe.
I'm sure if you call Avid, you can arrange to get the first issue.
JG
Hi John!
I called AVID and ordered the newletter and the back issue.
Thanks!
