Any Visual Basic Programmers? Has anyone worked with the Autodesk – Microsoft Visual Basic VBX? I get an "Internal Error" message if I try to play an animation fullscreen. Does anyone know of a fix for this or is it something that may be rooted in the display driver. I know I can do this with AVI files but my 3DS animations look so much better as .FLI's as long as I have the disk space.

We had some problems with Visual Basic 2 (and 3, I suppose) that were fixed with the VBXFIX.ZIP. Are you running into problems with our update? File Info for VBXFIX.ZIP Section: What's New! This release fixes several of the incompatibilities between the VBPLAY.VBX custom control and Microsoft Visual Basic version 2.0 and 3.0. Zip file also includes doc file describing problems which have been addressed (such as the "out of memory" message) and the updated aaplay.dll. Nik, That is the VBX I am using. (Most current posted here on the forum) Everything seems to work great except it will not go into full screen mode. I have a ATI Mach 32 with 2MB and V2.11 drivers. I would like to be able to use this in a distributable demo, so It needs to be able to work reliably. Thanks. Andrew Graphic Alchemy

Andrew, This is probably a very simple question for those who know the answer, I'll bet. Normally, our AAVGA.DLL file is required for full screen display of our 320×200 FLI files. By normally, I mean that our Windows player requires it. Does this help? Can you call AAVGA.DLL? Nik

Nik, I am new to VB, and learning rapidly. The AAVGA.DLL is in the system directory and full screen works with the AAWIN player. But it doesn't work if I use the VBX control. As I said I am new to VB and Windows programing so right now I am limited in knowledge to my old BASIC programing skills and the custom controls I can get my hand on. The Autodesk VBX works quite well for my purposes except the Full Screen. It looks like I am going to have to learn how to make direct calls to the DLLs though, is that what you are saying. Are there any sample programs that show how to do this that I could download. Andrew

There isn't much (and by the way, we have someone who is out for a couple of weeks who will be able to be of more help when he returns: Jonas Ruikus), but you might look in the IPAS/POCO/AAWIN section for VBPLAY.TXT, MCIAAP.ZIP, and perhaps even TBPLAY.ZIP (Toolbook example). Good hunting! Nik
