Jim, I heard about the calibration kit in one of the Video mags. It was mentioned as a method of keeping your Targa+ tuned to your system. And in a large part that is what it does. Let me quote from the austere manual: "Purpose: Occcasional adjustments are required to obtain the highest quality signal available from the TARGA+ board. This calibration consists of both Input and Output level adjustments. Truevision provides a program, tpluscal.exe, that is used in conjuction with these procedures to reset the EEPROM on the TARGA+ board to the new calibration settings. …Not for use by end-users or non-technical personnel." I thought you might like that last disclaimer. Kind of like the tags on chairs, or don't try this at home.<g> The tests do involve the use of some test equipment which is generally found in and around video suites and studios but not necessarily in a graphics house. Specifically you need a waveform monitor, vector scope, a video test signal generator and a small screwdriver. I use it to keep the board in time for the editing suite I use. I hope this helps.
