Steve,
I have version 2.1 of the Calibration Kit which has a release date of 02/01/93,
and it works fine. See my messages to Roger.
If I can help, please shout.

Fred, My Targa+ calibration Kit diskette has a release date of
5-13-91. This version will not work.
Steve,
I read your message over on Truevision, about the upgrade. If they prove to
move too slow I'd be willing to e-mail you a copy of my disk. I was hesitant
to offer for fear of some copyright problem, but since they said that it would
be a free -by anyway.
Let me know.
Fred
Fred, I own a Targa+ plus have yet to hear of a calibration kit. Could you
elaborate ???

Jim,
I heard about the calibration kit in one of the Video mags. It was mentioned
as a method of keeping your Targa+ tuned to your system. And in a large part
that is what it does.
Let me quote from the austere manual:
"Purpose:
Occcasional adjustments are required to obtain the highest quality signal
available from the TARGA+ board. This calibration consists of both Input and
Output level adjustments. Truevision provides a program, tpluscal.exe, that is
used in conjuction with these procedures to reset the EEPROM on the TARGA+
board to the new calibration settings.
…Not for use by end-users or non-technical personnel."
I thought you might like that last disclaimer. Kind of like the tags on
chairs, or don't try this at home.<g>
The tests do involve the use of some test equipment which is generally found in
and around video suites and studios but not necessarily in a graphics house.
Specifically you need a waveform monitor, vector scope, a video test signal
generator and a small screwdriver.
I use it to keep the board in time for the editing suite I use.
I hope this helps. If you need more let me know.
Oh yes, it costs $200.00.
Fred
Thanks Fred, I am interested in the product. Who is the manufacturer and do you
have their phone # ?
Thanx,
Jim
