This just happened to me also (which is why I'm looking in this forum): I ran Install, it added the ASPI driver to my CONFIG.SYS, I rebooted, and got the same "LS2000/3000" error. I ran Install a second time, but it wanted to updated my CONFIG.SYS again (which means the driver wasn't loaded). However, I'm not using an Adaptec board, which seemed to be identified as the culprit in other responses here. I have a Compaq Deskpro 486/50L (EISA) with a Compaq SCSI Option Adapter, which is connected to a Compaq internal 525 MB tape drive and a Sony CDU 6211-10 CD-ROM drive. I'm running OS/2 2.1. I haven't had any problem using the tape drive, using standard IBM drivers plus a driver from Sytron. The CD-ROM is a new addition to the system (though it's an old drive), and I haven't been able to get it to work yet. OS/2 2.x supports this particular CD-ROM, but it doesn't work with the standard drivers. Plus, when the CD-ROM is attached to the SCSI port, the tape drive doesn't work either (they have different unit numbers, so that's not the problem). I tried using a SCSI driver from Compaq that I downloaded from their BBS, but that hung my system at bootup. I'm trying the CorelSCSI drivers now because other people have had luck with them, but I can't get the ASPI driver to load. Note that I have no other SCSI devices in the system. I think I'll quit for now. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
