#CorelSCSI and sync mode

No, the specs for the 3401 include sync mode. I've gotten the thing
working using the ASPICD driver from Adaptec and the speed increase is
noticable. The problem is that I want PhotoCD support which means I have to
use the Corel driver. Unfortunatly, the Corel driver dies in sync mode.
Then it's likely that something else in your chain wants asynch. I've had
this problem before. The Panasonic 7010, for example, won't work in synch mode.
I just saw your note about Ver 2.0 coming out. I guess that answers my
question about there being a later version of the software. Of course they
KINDLY offer to charge me more for the upgrade than I paid for original
package. Not sure I can tell the difference between the upgrade price and what
the street price will be. I ordered a driver set from Toshiba that is suppose
to handle both sync, and PhotoCD. If it works, the Corel stuff gets junked.
Good luck if the Toshiba drivers can handle a 7010. Matsushita designed the
7010 around CorelSCSI.
7010? I was talking about the Toshiba 3401 using the drivers they wrote
instead of the Corel drivers. Something must have gotten lost in the
translation. The drivers should be here today or Monday. I'll keep my fingers
crossed.

So it goes.
The CorelSCSI universal CD ROM driver runs MY 3401 just fine. You can't use
proprietary drivers and mix them with CorelSCSI's since proprietary ones tend
to write directly to the cards.
