Hi there, A little while ago, I've seen a message around here about starting a 3DS user group in Montreal, the msg was from a certain "John Smith" of XON/XOFF, but I must be spelling it wrong since I can't find trace of those msgs. If anybody knows about this, please let me know, I'm very interested in getting in touch with this person or his group. Thank You, Godot Huard, Virtual Labs

Godot…. Montreal User's group is going to start real soon now… Give me your address and phone numbers. and I'll mail you an announcement as soon as a date is decided. Both Richard Smith and Myself are organizing and we are quite busy so simply sitting down and deciding a date seems to be a chore..Should be in early dec. Keep an eye on this forum and your mailbox… Roger Cusson Vanier Cad/Cam Institute

Roger, Vibrant Graphics is interested in increasing awareness of its Liquid Speed software accelerator for 3D Studio. We would be happy to provide you with a demonstration copy of the software and some literature to handout at a future users group meeting. Please let me know if you are interested. Best Regards, Brian Massey Vibrant Graphics, Inc.

Brian, Some others on the forum feel that 50% faster redraws should be what I get. I consistently get 35% faster in the Editor and 30% in the KF. I don't have a real problem with this but if it could go faster I would like it to. I;ve got a 4/66 (overdrive) Micronics MB, 32MB, Diamond SS24 -That's it. The Diamond is what's slowing me down I'll bet. Ever since I got R3 and have been using a 256 color mode for the editor things have slowed dramatically. Gary Yost say's it's the BIOS of the SS24 and I still haven't gotten around to getting an upgrade. I will and I'll let you know if I get any improvement over the 35% I have now. Dave Mennenoh

David, Yes, you should be getting a 50% increase in performance. However, I question whether or not your card is the issue. If 3DS is slowed by your BIOS problem, then LSpeed should give you 50% over that slower speed. Are you using a VESA compatible mode? When LSpeed loads, is your speed "throttle" in the information box all yellow, or are there some blue boxes? Do you get slow performance in ALL modes (16 color, lower res, etc?). The truth is, that the 3D Editor acceleration of LSpeed is more dependant on your CPU than your graphics card. I'll forward your information to our Tech Support group and see if we get similar results. Let me know if you have any more information for us. Best Regards, Brian
