Hey!!!!
Where'd my message go???? I was really hoping to hear some sort of bug fix of
patch to my problem??? OK…. So 3.0 has bugs…what next??? Am I just screwed
or what???
My message stated I recieved a "Mfree Error – Validity Check Failure" The first
time I rendered GOLD.3DS. It seems to happen the 1st time I render each
session.
What do I do now? Live with it???
I want to use this packeage… I'm not flaming, I just would like to know if
there's anything I can do.
..486/DX266, 16MB ram, 100 mb free HD……
I just want to know if there's anything I can do, or will Adesk come out with a
bug fix/patch??

Autodesk, are you seeing this??? No flames/just concerned.
Patrick:
I saw your message, but it works fine on my systems, so I wouldn't necessarily
call it a bug. Is this the only mesh that you are having trouble rendering?
Maybe it was a bad install?
I just tried it again, and even under Windoze with no problems.

Greg…
I don't know if the problem was with GOLD.3DS or with 3DStudio. I just
got kicked out of the programthe 1st time I tried to render it each
session. Are you suggesting a total reinstall? I also noticed that
sometimes I was kickedout of the program trying to use HILITE.
Autocad was never like this!! Even the windows version. I can see I'm
going to develop an online friendship with you before it's over!!

Patrick:
Your problem looks similar to a memory problem or a hardware conflict. Without
knowing a lot more about your configuration I couldn't even guess what your
problem is.
But remember, there are thousands of people using R3 already, and the program
is holding up very well – all crashes so far that I've heard of have been
hardware conflicts, not bugs. <g> They do look similar, though…
Greg Pyros
Right on Greg….. I'm running on as weird of hardware setup as it
goes; Prolinea 4/50, 12 Mb RAM, 45 Mb left, Targa, VESA driver. The
GOLD rendering is a cool image. Never had any prblems. I have learned
that any problems I had getting my 3DS up and running were at my end
of the court. Bummer as it was. It sure sounds like a memory problem
to me. Are there some memory TSRs hanging around? Seems like
something is getting reset after the first attempt of rendering. Good
luck….we are all on the cutting edge of disaster….
The version of Pharlap (5.0) used in R3 seems to be more finicky with
memory conflicts than ol' 2.x. I suggest you re-check, the
double-triple re-check you hardware/software configs for any possible
conflicts, and start from a fresh install.
I recieved many error messages the first few days with R3, but was able to get
rid of ALL of them soon after with some serious detective work and help from
folks on this forum.
Good luck,

I just installed the R3 upgrade this past weekend w/ NO (!!!) problems
whatsoever. Load the disks, configure the drivers and WOW! 🙂 And thanks to
the messages on this forum my network worked on the FIRST try! As far as the
new features/ enhancements I…ahhh…ummm…err…well I'm speechless!

Yeah, R3 is a beautiful thing. I'm glad you had such a wonderful installation
experience.

Um..yeah… Can I keep this message and post it to anyone having problems? <g>
