#CAD 3D Modeling
3 messages in this thread
To All CAD people – To anyone who knows CAD programs –
I am looking for a software program that does 3 dimensional modeling
for home design. The type of program I'm looking for can be found at
some of the home builder supplies centers like Handy Andy or Menards
or Drexel.
It should show rooms in three dimensions and allow you to look at the
same room from different points of view.
I need the program to also be able to give you the amounts of
materials, i.e., 200 2X4's, 300 1X2's, 40 4X8 sheets of dry wall,
etc., for the job. This may need to be a different program. Cost
estimating would be nice, too.
Does anyone know of anything like this out there? Thanks for the
help.
Contact an AutoCAD dealer and ask about Softdesk.s Autoarchitect, ASG,
and/or Ketiv's architectural add-ons. Post your message over in the
ACAD forum as well.
Jon,
There is a nice little package by a company called Eclipse … Architectural
PowerTools. Dave Cohn, the senior editor of Cadalyst, has a part in the
product and the company I think. From what I saw of the product a few years
ago, it was very easy to use and _affordable_.
Don't ask me how to get a'hold of him. I know he lerks on this forum from time
to time and he is a regular on the ACAD forum.
