I guess that's what I wanted to know – if it renders as quickly under
OS/2 as under DOS. All that I'd want to do would be writing while
it's chugging away, and I've gotten really tired of sitting there
watching little red lines ("Did it move? I swear it moved! Naw,
you're just seeing things.")
The only problem is I have a strange SCSI board and a floptical, so OS/2 may
get all weirded out. I'll have to check.
If your SCSI board isn't listed in the official IBM compatibility
guide, try checking with your board vendor. Mine, an Ultrastor 34F,
was not listed but Ultrastor had drivers anyway.
I'm not sure about the floptical. I vaguely remember hearing some
people complaining about poor removable HD support from OS/2.
I've talked with Adaptec and they say that the board should work – but
I have a Bios incompatibility with my motherboard. I'm not sure who
to talk to but I'm taking it to the Computer doctor…
