#Building a Group…
4 messages in this thread
Everybody who has ever worked with 3D-Studio knows that it is very
time-consuming to write really good animations.
I have seen many animations created with 3D-Studio, for example on
the world-creating CD and on many other CDs and video-tapes. Many of
them were good, but they didn't show what is possible with 3D-Studio.
The reason I think is that one or two men don't have the time to
write something better. So I would like to build a group with some of
the users of this forum to write a really great animation.
If you are interested, please send me a short note!

I certainly agree. I think there is alot of fine work out there but we
do not see alot of it, space limitations, download/upload time,
copyright etc… On the other hand I like your idea where some of the
forum folks get together and write and produce an animation that
takes 3dsr3 to the limit (if there is one!). Count me in.
Thanks for your reply. I would like to do the following:
All people who are interested write a short note about what they want to do.
After collecting all ideas we discuss what will be realised in the animation.
Some could do the modelling, some work with the keyframer, and maybe there are
some people who have the possibility to render the frames fast or own/create
some special IPAS-Routines.
Or everyone writes a part of the animation including all of these 3 steps.
Files could be swapped by CompuServe or Mailbox (BBS), rendered frames maybe by
disk or tape. It should be ensured that not everyone will have access to this
files, I think.
Everyone who worked on this animation will have all rights to use it in any
way. Of course all participants should to the same work.
Do you have any more (or other) suggestions? Or do you some more people who are
interested in this? Send me a note.
I like the idea of each person or group of persons working one specific angle
but donating ideas for the whole. I think a storyboard or general outline of
the animation would be a good way to get started. Maybe a short story or an ad
for AutoDesk. Hmmmm, I wonder how AD would feel about that….
