#A4000 For Sale
15 messages in this thread
I'm getting out of the Amiga business, so I am going to sell my latest and
greatest unsupported C= product.
A4000/040
10 MEGS RAM $2700 (s&h negotiable)
120 IDE HD
I'm shipping it in all original packaging, etc.. The computer is in TOP
condition. The price is negotiable. (I'm not aware of the current price of an
A4000 or any Power-Up deals, etc. I'll check my dealer this week and amend this
message if needed.)
Anyway, drop a line here or through Email if your interested. If you would
like, feel free to call me at home, (513) 829-1190, anytime after 7:00 EST.
Thanks,
Chris Dudley 73607-1231
Chris,
The A4000/040 is selling for around $2300-2400 with 6 meg of RAM. Even if you
add $200 for the extra 4 meg, your price is higher than new. Also would be
interested to know if yours has the fixed or busted Buster.
Bill
Bill,
Thanks for the info…As I said in my message, I wasn't positive about the
current price for a A4000. I'll change the asking price.
Yes, my machine does have the old motherboard with the unsocketed Buster chip.
It seems I remember there being a SCSI-2 third party interface that would work
for it though.
Anyway, I'm going to call my dealer and get an updated price..

Bill,
I checked with my dealer…$2795 for an A4000/040. I've lowered the price of
mine to $2300 anyway.
Thanks again, —Chris
Chris, Have you gotten the latest AmigaWorld? There is a company advertising
A4000/040 systems in there for just under $2100 I believe (may have been just
under $2200 though) anyway, it is some company out of Canada.
Just thought you might be interested
Jim
A new one is $2120.
I'll give you $1825.
Your dealer is pulling your leg.

Paul,
A4000/40s are not $2120. That is below cost.
Some companies may be dumping inventory (what's new there).. but I promise
that $2120 is below dealer cost.

Automated with AutoPilot!!!! Version 1.6
Yep..
OH I believe the ad is true.
What I am trying to say is that when an Amiga dealer folds, he sells his
inventory to either a willing distributor/mail order house or another
Amiga dealer. My guess is that something like that has happened. Or, an
Amiga distributor is in trouble and is dumping for cash.
My point here is that the price you are seeing is artificially low.
I can't buy 'em at that price from our authorized channel.

Mail order is selling them for less than $2100. My local dealer
though is selling A4000's for $2149.99. These are 040 versions. He
has 7 in stock right now… A friend just bought one because the
dealer just got his order.
