#TVPaint crashes

I'm having a problem getting TVPaint to run on my 2000 and was wondering
if anyone knows anything about the program and why it might be doing this.
My configuration is an A2000 GVP040 2megs chip (DKB's megachip) 16megs
32bit ram and 4megs 16 bit ram. An EGS110 board is attatched to the 040
and WB3.1. I am running the EGS version of TVPaint and yes I do have the
Dongle plugged in. Here's what happens: When I start TVPaint it comes up
with a requester asking the screen resolution I want to use after I choose
it the requester disappears and TVPaint accesses my SYS: harddrive (I
believe this is to save the configuration) and then hangs which causes my
SYS: drive to be invalidated (Thank goodness for DiskSalv). I have tried
this same software and Dongle on my A4000 with a Spectrum card at work and
it worked great. Now I know it's not the difference in the EGS card
because I also have a spectrum card in my A2000 and if I choose it's
screen the same thing happens. I suspect it is the 3.1 operating system.
Has anyone else had this problem or similar problem and if so did you get
it fixed and/or does anyone know if there is a newer version of TVPaint
that works with 3.1? I'm using version 2.0 of TVPaint

I also just recently got TV Paint v 2.01 & I use an A2000 Zues '040 w/ 16
mb of ram, 2.1 WB & EGS 7.1. I don't have a problem at all w/ the startup of
the program. Does the EGS board work OK otherwise? Check all the EGS programs,
because I think I remember reading that WB 3.1 handles the startup differently
(no User startup or something) & may be the root of your problem. I had a hell
of a time installing 6.2 EGS libs a wile ago, with its installation not doing a
great job of setting up the startup files. I spent the better part of a week
poking trial by error & tweaking the setup till it worked. 7,1 installation
was done manually.
Try setting up a 2.1 partition on your A2000 & boot off of it. See if it
works then!
Now I got some questions! At EGS 24bit mode, the mouse pointer leaves a
"trail" that is *not* saved w/ the pix, but is annoying. On any other mode
(256, 21bit) its all fine. Note only the mouse pointer does it, not the
stylus. Also, I use a Wacom Art-Z tablet w/ the software, but there doesn't
seem to be any direct support for this model number. I use the Wacom A5
Pressure, since the dimensions are closer to my tablet, but the pressure
sensitivity is off. At normal pressure, the pressure is turned off. They only
way to draw w/ pressure sensitivity is to press lightly w/ the pen. I can
almost get used to it, but its annoying & a hinderance.
Incidently, After installing WB 3.1, how did the EGS screen promotions
work? Using 2.1 has proven useless & it be great if I could. EGS seems to
work best on A4000 machines!
