I have come across the error message "Allocator Error: Invalid Handle" scrolling down a DOS screen from within 3DS every once in a while since getting 3ds almost two years ago. With my new purchase of r3 however, I'm beginning to notice that certain commands cause it to happen regularly from within certain project files (but not others). The command that most often causes this is "modify/axis/align/vertex". Luckily it doesn't cause program termination, but I don't get my axis aligned as I want, so that's enough of a problem right there. Does anyone have any idea what causes this and how I might fix it? Thanks in advance, Andy

This, plus your occassional problems with Optimize, DEFINITELY point to a problem with your memory management/system environment. – G

<This, plus your occassional problems with Optimize, DEFINITELY point to a problem with your memory management/system environment.> In that case, perhaps you need to know a little about my system. I have: an Intel 486DX66 processor 16 MB RAM 340 MB Seagate HD 212 MB W/D HD Mustek Scanner DMA 3, IRQ 10 Media Concepts soundcard DMA 1, IRQ7, 22xh, i/o 220 Colorado tape drive DMA 2, IRQ6, i/o 370 CD-ROM DMA 5, IRQ 11, i/o 300 Clock IRQ 0 Keyboard IRQ 1 System IRQ 2 Mouse Com 2, IRQ 3, 02f8 Digitizer Com1, IRQ 4, 03f8 Modem Com3, IRQ 5, 03e8 I use QEMM ver. 7.5 I have excluded the following addresses with QEMM: x=b000-c7ff As I said, Jonas has the two project files, both of which can be made to crash on command every time. (when making the appropriate "moves" that is) Andy

If Jonas can reproduce the crash on HIS system, he'll forward the files to me. If he can't, it'll be a clear indicator pointing back to your machine. We'll see what he says manana.

<If Jonas can reproduce the crash on HIS system> Ah, I see. <g>

Not the Alligator again! Remember the problems I had on one machine during R3b? They persisted until the motherboard was changed to a later version. Quelle horreur!

Ahhh… Nothing like a motherboard problem to ruin a placid state-of-mind. Congrats on figuring it out and correcting it!
