#Decompression routines
2 messages in this thread
I'm new to the world of modems. I've been at the computer for about 4 yearsall
of it on A500's. I've got the 2meg Agnus chip and scsi controlled hard drive. I
can't get any files or programs I download to operate! I think it has to do
with arching. archiving , please help me decompress some of this stuff… which
program is best and where can I find it. As soon as I can master this I'll
begin Uploading some wayout stuff I've been working on. I look forward to
participating with all my fellow Amigans. Thanks!
RAL,
You need to download LHA138.RUN. It is a self-extracting archiver. Download to
your system hard disk's root directory, open shell window, type following lines
followed by return.
Shell > CD RAM:
Shell >SYS:LHA138.run ; substitute full path if in a sub-directory of
; SYS: like Sys:dloads/archiver/LHA138.RUN
Copy file LHA from ram: to your C: directory. Typing LHA on a command line will
produce a scroll of the command template and help file. Follow the template to
extract files from downloaded archives.
Library 14 of Amigauser: Archivers/Crunchers
Name: LHA138.RUN Size: 109140
This is Version 1.38 of LhA by Stefan Boberg. LhA is a powerful
archiver for the Commodore-Amiga computer. It is fully compatible
with LHA for MSDOS systems and LhArc for MSDOS, Amiga and *NIX. It is
also compatible with LhArcA, LZ and decompression and has several
commands and options not found in any other currently available archiver
for the Amiga.
