I've never tried it, but the GUI front end on os/2 (Presentation
Manager) is just another program, and it doesn't need to be run to
run os/2. I'm putting a dx2 chip in my home computer, and might try
loading os/2 without PM on it and see if I can run a foreground and
background copy of 3ds that way. PM doesn't put that much of a hit on
performance, but running w/o PM might be a more comfortable option
for some folks.
