#Wallpaper Patterns
5 messages in this thread
Is there a process or a program to allow conversion of Windows .bmp
wallpaper patterns to AmigaDos 2.01 workbench patterns? I cam up with a
couple of nice PBS orinented wallpaper patterns for our Windows machines
at work, and would like to use them on the A2000 on which our Toaster is
running, and of course since we are running the Toaster we can't run
NickPrefs.

ADPro will convert .bmp pictures to IFF format. If you do not have ADPro, I
will convert the picture for you, via US Mail. Let me know if that is what you
wnat and I'll E-Mail you my address.

I have programs to convert .bmps to IFFs, so that is no problem. The
problem is that DOS 2.01 doesn't accept straight IFFs as WB patterns.

I forgot that, I've been using 3.0/1 since it came out. I used to display a
picture as a WB backdrop, however, it does eat up some chip ram (I use a hi-res
WB) and have since gone back to the gray screen.

You can always upgrade your OS to 3.1 and get rid of NickPrefs as the same
wallpaper functions are built into the OS. And then you can download the PCX
and BMP datatypes which will allow this program and all other datatype aware
utilites/programs to read these file formats in their native form.
