A quick question. I see people selling 3DS and other packages here on the
forum. What is the story here. Are all these people dealers? Where do these
packages come from? How can someone have a 3DS for $1100? I got the word from a
ACAD sysop on our shareware message not to post $$$ amounts. Does that not hold
true in this forum, or is it ok in the Want AD section?
Just trying to figure the world out…..
Angela
Hello Mrs. Pate,
I happened to catch your message. Nice title too.

That's not fair, Angela. You said a quick question.
By my count you've already asked four
…and I've got a feeling you have a few more you want to pop.

You mean there's a whole 'nother forum I can go run amuck in?
Take me there, Mrs. Pate.

Look Angela! You started a thread. See how easy it is.
And it's got a pretty catchy title too!
And you planted it right out here in the middle of the forum…
so everybody could see it.
Are you sure you don't know more about this stuff than you're letting on?
We're going to get that MicronGreen thing going real quick.
I think you have a lot to say.
AP > Just trying to figure the world out…..
Can I add some more dittos here?
Angela, If you're going to stand here and wait for some answers…
I guess I'll hang out too, if you don't mind a little company.
I guess this means you really want to hack this out on the frontlines.
I'm getting the feeling that that Hurricane really did some damage down there.
You know. Come to think of it, that qualifies for discussion
in the Dealer's Dilemna thread. I think the crop report is over.
Wanna pop over to Take 5 for a quick chat?
Tighten up that helmet… Let's go get some coffee.
And watch out for those cyberjocks flying through here…
They're on autopilot and traveling at a pretty fast speed.
We're standing here in the middle of the Information Highway…
we don't want to get hit before we get some answers.
Kevin -=It's a state of concern.=-
P.S. We'll be back in a little while.
Please save our space.
Hi Angela,
The following file contains this forum's policy statement. The $$$ messages
are seen by those individuals who log in often, like yourself :-). The
different sysops who frequent this forum will eventually move them out of the
public message area and into the closed sysop section. In general the $$$
posted have gone down tremendously over the last year and we appreciate those
of you who have been following this policy.

Title: Autodesk Forum Advertising Guidelines
Keys: AUTODESK ADVERTISING GUIDELINES FORUM ADS
This text file contains the guidelines that Autodesk would like for all forum
members to follow with regards to advertising. These guidelines apply to all
Autodesk dealers, developers, and customers. This file is in ASCII format and
can be downloaded or read online….

This file contains the following….

Autodesk CompuServe Forums Advertising Guidelines
Introduction
CompuServe generally prohibits advertising on public forums, but because
much of the utility of AutoCAD and 3D Studio derives from third party
applications
and device drivers, we choose to allow some forms of advertising on
the AutoCAD and Multimedia Forums. By allowing advertising in certain
forms, we provide developers the opportunity to discuss technical aspects of
their products and to suggest solutions for problems encountered by forum
members. This document details the forum advertising guidelines.
Device Driver and Application Developer Advertising
In forum messages, driver and applications developers may:
– discuss product features,
– provide name, address, and telephone number where forum members may
obtain price and ordering information, or ask that members contact the
developer through CompuServe Mail for that information.
We ask that developers not:
– post pricing information in forum messages
– directly solicit sales on the forum
Developers may post official press releases in the message area of the forum,
but we ask that you delete mention of pricing from them.
Press releases and other announcements posted as files in the forum libraries
may contain pricing information.
Dealer Advertising
Dealers may not solicit sales or advertise software or hardware for sale. If a
forum member inquires about buying an Autodesk product that is distributed
through the dealer channel, a dealer whose territory includes the inquirerAs
location may offer a telephone number or CompuServe ID and ask that the
member contact the dealer privately for further information.
Forum Member Advertising
Forum members who are not dealers or developers may advertise used
hardware and software for sale in the Take 5/Want Ads message section of the
forum. They may also post files listing equipment for sale in the Take 5/Want
Ads library area.
>> Forum Member Advertising
Forum members who are not dealers or developers may advertise used
hardware and software for sale in the Take 5/Want Ads message section
of the forum. They may also post files listing equipment for sale in
the Take 5/Want Ads library area. <<
Can (non-dealer, non-developer) forum members list prices and make offers
in Take 5?

We have been asking that you post the ad stating the availability of
for sale items in the message area and encourage the discussions of $
to private e-mail or within the contents of a downloadable file from
the lib.
Hi Angela.
Look! A quick response.
From one of the good guys. Thanks Jonas.
