Release spring or sunner next year. > Sanford You know, a class in physics (or maybe a consultant) should be required for anyone writing or producing a special effects Sci-fi film… Ice EXPANDS when frozen, not contracts…therefore, when ice melts it LOSES volume. Add this to the fact that an Iceberg is 99% BENEATH the surface and that the vast majority of the frozen water in the world's ice caps is likewise beneath the surface, melting the world's ice caps would slightly LOWER world sea levels. Now, the artic cap is virtually entirely ice, but antartica is glacial and has a lot of ice on top of land (but not a hundred miles deep!), so even spreading this small volume of land-based ice flows across the world's oceans would not make an appreciable increase in world sea levels…certainly NOT to make Denver underwater :} Sheesh…why not just set the story on a non-earth water world or better yet, come up with a plausible way to add huge volumes of water to the Earth's environment…like a moon-sized ice asteroid, which would certainly melt on impact (<- (C) .
