#CMD 1942 Monitor/Toaster

I installed the Toaster 4000 on my accelerated A2000. I have a Commodore 1942
monitor (used previously with my A3000) connected to it and it does not seem
to want to operate properly in what-ever video mode the Toaster runs.
Returning to the old standard Commodore monitor 1080, everything is fine.
Question: Is there a limitation on using the 1942 monitor in the Toaster
environment? or is there some work-around patch I should use?
Assuming that the 1942 worked well in Workbench display modes, the 1942 can
indeed serve as your Toaster interface monitor. Whereas the 1080 is a
single-scan monitor that syncs via the Amiga's composite sync line, the 1942 is
a multi-sync monitor that requires separate H and V sync signals.
Unfortunately, H and V sync, as produced by the Amiga, are no longer available
once the Amiga goes into genlock mode (Start Toaster).
PreVue Technologies sells an adapter, the Sync Strainer, that senses the switch
to genlock mode and regenerates new H and V by taking apart composite sync. It
also converts the 23-pin video port to the more common 15-pin high density
connector.
