I am tired of tinkering around with my P90 (AMI Bios) to get the
Vibrant drivers to come back with more than "No MGA found"…. :<
!??!
I have a MGA Ultima+ 4Mb and no luck with any of the many suggestions
that forum members here have made toward getting the thing to work!
The board works in Windows and with its AutoCAD drivers, so why the
heck would the Vibrant drivers be the only ones making a stinky
situation on an otherwise happy machine?
Please inform me if there is a "known problem" with Vibrant and MGA
cards.

PMFJI, but i've been using a MGA II PCI card (w/ 2mb) on my P90 with
no problems, so it's not MGA in general. Hope that helps narrow your
problem.

I've got the exact same card as you, and it works fine. I originally
had a problem with an OPTI based chipset (dual pentium architecture)
but after switching to an INTEL Neptune chipset board everything was
fine. Apparently there are two flavors of PCI, and the OPTI had the
flavor the Vibrants couldn't grok.

Yes – MGA setup, windows, and ACAD were running fine. It was only the Vibrant
drivers that were unable to detect the MGA chip. After switching MB's I was
back in buisness, and the card makes 3DS as pleasant a place to work as on the
SGI (1280×1024 lightining speed!).

John, that's terrible news! Now I'll have to stoop to doing a midnight
motherboard swap!!! Argh!!!
Didn't Vibrant have any encouraging words to say about this? (Like "Gee, that
is awful! Maby we'll fix it in our next release!")
I am persuing another route with Matrox — I have downloaded their MGASET
utility from their CIS forum which allows one to change the boards address and
other parameters…. a long shot…
