Creating a Pause in VB
5 messages in this thread
Hello Brian,
<<Second, add a line in the [aaplay animation] section of your WIN.INI file
which reads:
Int2fSwitch=yes>>
By adding this to my WIN.INI this solved my problem.
Now in one part of this program the user can select from the menu bar a sample
slide show which was done by using the Adesk utility VBPLAY.VBX. During the
slide show I am trying to create a One Click PAUSE and a Double Click RESUME.
As it stands when the slide show is playing and the user click's in the full
screen slide show it stops not pauses, then the slide show has to be started
from the beginning which is then useless.
I have researched this problem but no luck in locating any documentation on
this subject.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you much…

Here is a bit of code from the example that ships with the Animation
Support Libraries. Do you have that? If not, you need it.
For the click event in the animation window, I have:
If Animation1.Play Then
Animation1.Pause = 1
Else
Animation1.Pause = 0
End If
This will pause and resume with one click. But you can modify it and
put part in the single click and part in the double click if you
want.
P.S the Animation Support Libraries: This developers kit includes C
and Visual Basic Programmers reference manuals for the Windows
Player, Fliclib and File Format manuals, Code examples and other
support files, POCO and POE reference manuals, and more. You can
order this kit directly from Autodesk by calling 800-964-6432. The
kit costs about $25.
Hello Brain,
Thank's for your help, Much is appreciated.
I do have the ASL 2.0 which works great with VB.
I tried the Pause code which came as a sample with the ASL and it works as
designed except for AAS files. FLC and FLI files work as designed.
Any suggestions?
Thank you much…

I've never tried it. I don't see why it wouldn't work, unless you
somehow have to feed the program the actual flic name that is
playing. Perhaps, it is trying to pause the .AAS file.
<<I am also wondering is it possible to place Command Buttons on top
of an animation window? I have tried this and it seems you cannot, Is
this true?>>
Yes and no. When the animation plays, the animation window
automatically takes focus and brings it to the top. I image that
after that event, you could force focus and bring to the top a
button. I suspect though, that everytime the animation loops, it
would take focus back. It is a matter for experimentation.
