As some of you know, I am seeking for a modeller for the PowerMacintosh that
could export DXFs to 3DS. My list is now reduced to the following:
Alias Sketch 2.0, which has NURBS and raytracing (arround $500)
Valis (they make MetaFlo') PixelPutty Solo (yeah, the name is stupid) for $300.
RayDream Designer 3.0 for $248 (easiest to use)
I know that FormZ is great, and Electric Image is very good too, but I am not
going to spend $4,000 in another animation program for the Mac. I prefer to
join a satanic cult and practice black magic to make Gary port 3DS to the
PowerMac.
The second option is the only I don't have experience with (I was talking about
the program, not the black magic). It was demoed in Siggraph, but I wasn't
there. It is supposed to do wonders and oriented to creat organic/irregular
models. I have read a lot of great comments comparin it to modellers at the SGI
level, but I am searching for the enligthment among the massssteerrrsss in the
forum :). I am sure that some of you saw the thing at Siggraph. Any other
comments about Alias and Desginer would be equally appreciated.

ps. God, anyone want my copy of Animator Pro!
ps2. Still playing with Painter 3.0, will post some info soon.
Animator Pro? Perhaps, what would be looking for in price? (I'm geared up to
get Animator Studio, so it could be a good avenue for me to look into.)
This is out of the blue, but….
by chance would you have any experience in any programs that use 32,000 color
animation files? (Full versions of HCPLAY & HCMAKE.)
Thanks in Advance
