Disregard last message….for some reason i was successful at last with another try in uploading…..but question remains for what goes in HOST FILENAME? George

George, That will be the filename as it is to appear in the forum. It is limited to 6 characters.3 characters or less such as MYFILE.GIF. Any more characters will be clipped off so that NAMEIS2L.ONG would become NAMEIS.ONG. It doesn't need your path reference for your machine as you are telling CompuServe how it will appear in the library here. I think some software will default to taking the filename off the path you give on your machine if that host filename is not filled in but I'm not sure of that. That May Be Part Of Your Upload Problem Rollie

Rollie…It sure is! I use CIM..1400 BAud rate…Most times i don't give an extension in Host File. I have the latest update but i still feel something is not kosher with my setup for i get disconnected at the change of a command sometimes (eg. going from Lib to Message ) .I always prefer to blame CIM being too busy with overload of lines and stuff. I wonder why it annoys me. <g> Thanks Rollie for clearing up this area. I was never sure about it's intent. I lost my CIM Manual a long time ago in my attic somewhere..I did'nt seem to care about it then but strangely i do now…would'nt hsve to bother you people with trivia. George
