GreG,
Thanks for replying to my message! I'm looking into 3DS
Release 4, but I'm still looking. I've got Imagine 2.0 from Impulse,
and still trying to understand its format. Is Imagine 3.0 any
better? A question, what are IPAS routines? I still fairly
inexperienced at these terms. Right now I am doing my animations
with PolyRay 1.5 by Alexander Enzmann. It was free for me, so I use
this most often. I also have POV-Ray 2.0, which I use, but not as
often as Polyray. Thanks for giving me the hint to go to GUGRPA. I
haven't done so yet, I been busy with school and the like.
Aruna,
IPAS are third party modules for 3DS that add special effects and
special modelling capabilities such as particle effects, fire,
explosions, etc. They would be comparable to Imagine's Special
Effects.
Imagine 3.o is vastly superior to Imagine 2.0. The interface for the
most part is the same, with several additions for modelling in the
perspective window. For a feature list of Imagine 3.0, take a look
at FEATUR.TXT in the Imagine section of GUGRPA.
