I read in PC Week that Ray Dream is being ported from the Mac to Windows. What can anyone tell me about this package? Is it a ray-tracer? Does it provide animation capability? What are its strengths/weaknesses? TIA, Chris L. Rudolphi

Ray Dream Designer is a 3D modeling and rendering package whose claim to fame is that it is VERY easy to use, yet full featured. It does do ray tracing, and is usually priced at under $300. It does NOT do animation, and is really positioned more for users who have been using 2D tools (e.g., Illustrator, Freehand) and want to do some 3D stuff for their graphics design work. Loyd Case
