#Animation Program
7 messages in this thread
I'm a newbie to the world of animation, and would like to know if there is a
good freeware or inexpensive shareware program for doing nice animations. I
have POV-Raytracer. But I would like a program designed espescially for
animations. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

P.S. Thanks
AniMagician (ANM21.ZIP) will do 320x200x256 FLI animations, complete with
embedded soundtracks. It is available in the Animation Sources library.
Frank,
DTA and VFD will create FLI and FLC anims from an image series. VFD also
creates AVIs. Both are in the Animation Sources lib archived as DTA.ZIP
and VFD.ZIP

I just got a CD named "Computer Animation Madness" it only costs
about $20 – $25. On it they have a workung demo of True Space.
The full version costs about $500 – $700 but the only major difference
is that you can not save objects. However you can export to AVI files.
After everything it really is a great ' working demo'
If you are in to creating some sweet 3D animation that is one good and
not so expensive way to do it.
I have got a copy of True Space that I never use. Make me an offer
and its yours. (Within reason!) Its a good program, but we have 3D
Studio which we like better for broadcast work. 3DS also has network
rendering so we can render our animations on a farm of PC's. The
downside to 3DS is the price.
Anyone know of someone who might have a 3ds on CD, perhaps last
version, that might want to get rid of it? I don't come to this
forum often,so you'll ahve to mail me!
The last version of 3D Studio just shipped about 2 weeks ago. There
probably aren't many people with R4 that want to get rid of it at
this point. Your best bet would be to try the the Autodesk Forum at
Go ASOFT.
