I have Truspace and povray's autobatch utility as well as RTAG, DTA,
AAPLAY, PLAY and Windows Media Player, but I am interested in
recording broadcast quality video ray-traced animation (numbered
targa files, I guess ) to video. What hardware/software do I need
for $2-4,000 in addition to my p590? I am guessing I need something
that will convert the rgb data files into video and record them so I
don't have to save gigabytes of data per minute. I would also like
to be able to combine these with actual filmed video and/or edit
frames in photoshop, etc. with fancy peels, fades, etc.

Kevin,
I reccoment the PAR (personal animation recoder) from DPS. It's a card for the
PC (or Amiga). It's a HD-VCR. You give it the TGA files and after a short time
you can play back your anim as video. Supports full video resolution.
I think it's $2500 plus HD. Very low price compared to other systems or single
frame recording.
