Anyone, I have been working with Autodesk products creating animations and I have found a need for 3D animation screen savers. My problem is that I am not a programer therefore compiling a animation that has a FLC or FLI extension into a SCR to be compatible in windows and be selected in the control panel is unknown at this time. My question? Is there a simple program that will compile these file to do what I want. Or what program language could I accomplish this task. If I posted this message in the wrong forum please repost in the correct forum and/or advise. I have asked around in the Autodesk forums and I havn't got any healthy response. Also if there is a software vendor forum I should try once again please advise. Thank you much for your time… Paul J.

hi paul…i've got autodesk pro as well and find myself in the same position as you outlined in your august request here. did you ever find a lead? i have done some work with screencraze (screen saver generation program) BUT one is forced to have bought the screencraze program for EACH installation of the screen saver! obviously what you (and i) are looking for is a stand alone conversion/generation program that makes/takes an animated file (hopefully with import for .FLI, FLC) and lets us create an animated screen saver that's 'exportable' by itself or with a freeware utility that allows the windows screen saver configuration to address it. lemme know if you've gone a step further…thanks noel paul stookey (also stook@celestat.com)

There are several such engines around. We have developed several here at GRAFX. In fact, we have one that allows multiple FLC, AVI, BMP and EXE files to be chained together. Unfortunately, ours are custom and that is the business we are in, so I can't release them. The point of my comment is that it is easy to do and there are several share-ware versions on CIS. (Not FREEWARE!). Try FXsave. It is one of my favorites and the author offers a commercial license for just a few hundred bucks… Doug Wolfgram – GRAFX – Doug Wolfgram/GRAFX, Written 18-Oct-1994 @ 07:39:19 Using: Windows NavCIS PRO 1.25
