What is the best way to construct a sphere in A:M? currently I have to import my primatives from 3d studio as dxf's. It'd be nice if there was some quick way to produce a multitude of pre-made primative objects that you could then adjust to suit your needs. Thanks Ron Millar

>What is the best way to construct a sphere in A:M?< I thought it was just me – I was up here to post that same question – I've tried bu building them in something else and importing, but I keep getting errors that way, too. Let me know if'n you find out. .mark

Mark, don't forget about the "primitives" file in our library…. it contains about ten geometrically perfect shapes including a sphere that are already in .seg format… Steve, Hash Inc.

Thanx – i snagged that. I must say, I'm likin' me some Hash. The interface is different, but I like it. The thing that's throwing me — until now, I guess — is the inability to generate simple primatives – I do a lot of 'mechanical' stuff and use a lot of spheres, tubes, etc. That, and I've got to get the hang of doing test renders so I can see what I'm doing. DO you realize, in the entire five tape animation PRO series, I don't think a single person renders a darn thing. Even the textures and decals guy bever shows you what this stuff will actually LOOK like. If it wasn't for the 'sales' guy in the promo video, I'd think you couldn't _DO_ test renders. Just some thoughts … .mark

Thank you for uploading the primitives. They are definite time savers and idea starters! Now what was this about mannequins you used to have that somebody was telling me about. They'd be neat to have, too, since they're not in A:M, unless that's Bob he was telling me about. Kevin

Kevin, Bob is our best mannequin to date… feel free to alter him to your liking, as many times as you want <g> Steve, Hash Inc.

I thought Bob was a mannequin. I've been altering him a bunch of times! Thanks again! Kevin
