Just an note here all….. First of all this has been a great thread and I'm lovin' it…. thanx all you Play and A:M users that have offered great advice and suggestions… back to the note, those original "primitives" in .seg form were released with version 1.48 only but are compatible with ALL of our versions…I'll try to round them up over the next few days and upload them to the file library… Steve, Hash Inc.

>>>First of all this has been a great thread and I'm lovin' it…. Steve, Now that we have your attention, I have one idea for the next AM and a question. (Sorry can't change the name of the tread with my WinCis). >>>>>>>(Two guys can be a *single* "actor" — it is easier for making them interact)… 1) Idea: It is a pain to make a "double-single" actor, as it is now. (Means recreating the figures from scratch in Character). What the program *really* needs is to be able to bring in whole ready figures with their atributes in Character (with all the inverse kinematics presets, of course)… This should be a simple matter, I would think… Another button with a little man as in Direction and just merging the .Fig and .Att files. You should also be able to delete a segment with all its children in one shot, not just one by one (a crossed little man button ?). 2) Question: Is there a way to do it now by edditing the .Fig and Att files in Notepad? What would happen if I had 2 figures: John.fig and Paul.fig and wanted to create a single Johnpaul.fig? What I am thinking is that I would start in Character with a new file and simply add a ghost and save it as Johnpaul.fig. Than in Notepad copy and paste the contents of both John.fig and Paul.fig into it… (Same with John.att and Paul.att). What would I have to look for? What parts of the files would I have to edit? Is it even possible? Pawel

Try attaching a ghost to John (at the foot is good) then attach Paul to the ghost as well, and you should get two characters that are one fig…. not realeasy to do but possible… Sanford Kennedy just got done doing exactly that with Bob and Ted from the tutorials…. thanks for your input we'll keep it in mind for the next version… Steve, Hash Inc. BTW you've always had my attention, I was just enjoying seeing you guys interact and being a casual observer 🙂

>>>Try attaching a ghost to John (at the foot is good) then attach Paul to the ghost as well, and you should get two characters that are one fig…. not realeasy to do but possible… I am still not clear on that. Do you do that by recreating Paul in Direction, (adding segments to John) or by editing the ASCI .fig files? Also, wouldn't John's every foot movement make Paul fly in the air? What about the attributes? Pawel

What you do is open Character and create a file called johnpaul.fig. Have a ghost.seg at ground level – attatch two other ghost segs to this in the positions you want john.fig and paul.fig to stand. Now rename the segment path of one of these last two segs to the path of john.fig – for example c:\master\john\john.fig (or John:john.fig – both work). Rename the other ghost to the path of paul.fig – for example c:\master\paul If you do not see the figures in Action look carefully at the path names, if these are not 100% acurate then they will be ignored. Best wishes, David Jefferson, Editor Animator magazine.

David, >>>Now rename the segment path of one of these last two segs to the path of john.fig – for example c:\master\john\john.fig (or John:john.fig – both work). Woww! Load figure as a segment? Are you sure this will work? I have to check it out… this would be even simplier that what I thought of… Pawel
