#Copyrights
7 messages in this thread
I just wanted to let everyone know that may have had a similar problem
concerning the posting of images that are copyrighted such as the TIE Fighter
patrol scene I have been trying to get posted here. Apparently every forum is
run by a groups of individuals who make decisions about what is allowed in
their forums; each forum may and can have conflicting policies.
Therefore, I am respecting the decision of the leaders of this forum and
will no longer try posting images in this area of copyrighted material such as
scenes and animations that I have or will create from Star Trek, Star Wars,
Babylon 5, etc. As images or animations that I have created are available for
posting, I will leave everyone here a message that a new image or animation is
available, and that it will be found in the SF Multimedia Forum.
For those of you who are not members of the SF Multimedia Forum, and are
Star Wars fans, especially X-Wing pilots, there is a new electronic magazine by
Rich Mason that costs nothing and is a really nice piece of work.

Hi Michael,
I was wondering why I haven't seen the image that you said you uploaded (I
can't find it anywhere<g>).
Ya, I just heard about all the copyright talk going about CIS, especially
in the GAMAPUB where LucasArts is. I too like doing Star Wars related stuff,
among other things, so this affects me too, as I'm sure it does MANY other
people.

Please do, as I've been looking forward to seeing some of your work after
you described the detail in which it was constructed. BTW, is any of your
work available in the SF Multimedia Forum as of yet?

Yes, it really is a nice magazine. But it's been out for about a year now
(it still might be considered new<g>). There are 5 issues out right now, and
it is a quarterly, so the next issue will be out in Jan. It's located in the
Flight Simulation Forum (GO FSFORUM) in library 9 (Space Combat).

Michael,
Rich Mason, editor of SFC, has asked to see the file for possible
inclusion in SFC, so I have refrained from uploading the file until he has
rejected it. I am working on other images and animations and will post notice
here accordingly as to where they are available. I did, however post the file
to the AM Bulletin Board, so you may find it there. I will upload the project
files if you or anyone else is interested.

I would love to see your Tie fighter…. Could you per chance send it to me so
I can put it on our own BBS…
Steve, Hash Inc.
Steve,
I uploaded the Tie Fighter patrol scene onto the AM BBS on 11/11/94. When
I was constructing the models, I wasn't too sure if my models would work the
way I wanted, so in doing test rendering, I didn't put them to gether very
well. Since the TIE and TIE/In both have the same design except for wing frames
and solar panels, I am finishing the wings for the TIE/In and then rebuilding
the models in a more sensible fashion. Then I will upload the project files
including the maps I created in Fractint, CorelDraw!, and Photostyler.
I have also uploaded a copy of the scene on AOL in the Graphics and
Animation section in 24 Bit Rendered/Sci-Fi, with the notation that I created
it in AM with the rendering time. (Only 1:50 for an 800 x 600 24 bit
anti-aliased shadowed rendering.) I just want to show people that despite some
short-comings, if you really want to put in the effort to do first-class work,
AM can do it.

Mike, I saw the TIE Fighter! I was very impressed! What a great piece of work!
Keep it up and thanks for your support!

Steve,
Thanks! The TIE/In should be finished today. I'll upload a rendering as
soon as it is done. Boolean functions are going to benefit me a great deal. I
can't wait for 3.0.
