GreG, I've been using Imagine 3.0 for a couple of months now. I really like the program, though the interface could use some help. There is one anomaly however, exhibited by the renderer, for which I cannot find a solution. I'm trying to create an image of a brushed aluminum cabinet. The cabinet is basically rectangular and slightly relfective. All corners have a small radius on them. When I render the image, the sides of the cabinet show sharp shading differences between faces in the same planar surface. It actually makes a perfectly flat surface look as if it were faceted. If I select edges on the planar surfaces and make them sharp, the resulting render does not exhibit the sharp shading differences, however the overall shading is very dull and not at all the effect I'm looking for. I've played around with different texture settings and nothing seems to make a difference. I would appreciate any help you could give me. I can upload the object (it's quite small) if that helps. Thanks, BL

Bob, Knowing just which edges to make sharp, and which to leave shaded to get the desired affect takes practice. Please do send me the object. Thats the best way for me to see what you see. It also gives me the opportunity to modify it and send it back so that you can see what I changed. Send it via e-mail, as I will get it MUCH quicker. -GreG
