Imagine 3.1 is part of Impulse's constant update program, in which for $100, you get several updates during the course of a year, with a landmark copy (Imagine 4.0), at the end of the update year. This allows you to use the new features as they are developed, rather than waiting for the final landmark (Im4.0) to be ready. Depending on the complexity of the scene, and if you are ray-tracing, it may. If you are ray-tracing, you may want to render it in Scanline mode which is MUCH MUCH faster. The only noticeable thing you lose in scanline mode is shadows, reflections & refraction. -GreG
