How would you compare Imagine 2.0 to Autodesk's 3D Studio 2.0?And how much does Imagine 2.0 cost? Also, are there any discounted deals or packages for anyone or , lets say, maybe a middle school student? Thanks, Daniel

You can get Imagine 2.0(IBM) in the book "3D Modeling Lab" of about $40.00. It comes with an un-crippled version for 2.0, but there are no docs except the few examples in the book. There is also an upgrade offer to 3.0 for $300.00. I've been using 3.0 for a few months now and think it's wonderful. Sam P.S. If you get 2.0 and have any questions you can get almost any of then answered in this forum of the Imagine UG in Graphdev. – Sam J. Thanks for the advice. It was very helpful. One question though.Where could I find that book, 3D Modeling Lab?That sounds like a great price–even though I don't know how much Imagine 2.0 usually costs. Thanks, Daniel

Daniel, Just eavesdropping, but I agree that that is a good price. I ordered the book through a bookstore. Here's the information you'll need: 3D Modeling Lab Philip Shaddock Waite Group Press ISBN 1-878739-52-2 The latest prices I know are: Version 3.0 $695 Upgrade to 3.0 from 3D Modeling Lab version $300 Upgrade to 3.0 from 2.0 $100 Upgrade to 3.0 from 1.0 $200 Upgrade to 3.0 from Silver $300 Constant Update $100 However, I might have the prices wrong, so you might want to confirm them with Impulse at 1-800-328-0184. The Constant Update is a yearly charge for which you receive several revisions throughout the year rather than one large one each year or so. I've never used 3DS either, because it costs about $3,000! My guess, though, is that many of the techniques you can develop in Imagine could be used in 3DS if you decide to get that later. Good luck.
