I do not have the specifics on Warp — I am still using 2.1 and probably won't
switch to Warp until I hear more about it. You might try calling IBM directly
or talking to a local IBM dealer to get some answers.

I took the plunge a purchased Warp. It install perfectly on a simple system.
486,standard video card, IDE harddrives, sound blaster etc.
Unfortunatly, my system is not standard. There is no support for
removable optical drives, TWAIN for scanners, True Type Fonts, Net
working, etc. On my home system it ran like a champ. The internet
connect is great! It just would not work on my power systems.

That is about what I expected. IBM markets for the masses first, then power
users second. Some of those features you want will probably come from the OEMs
if/when they feel like supporting Warp.

That logic seems backwards to me. Power users are the ones that influence the
masses. I have decided to keep WARP anyway on hope the support does come. I
just purchased two Dual Pentium mother boards from YMS and I need an operating
system that will support them!

It seems backwards to me too. I worked for IBM for three years, and much of
what they did seemed backwards. I hear things are improving with the company,
but a mass that big has much inertia and is hard to turn.

PMJI, but Warp doesn't support dual pentiums… yet. OS/2 2.11 *does* have an
SMP version (if your system is MPS 1.1 compliant, it'll work). I've used 3DS
on 2.11, and it does work (I'm rendering a big-ass IPAS routine right now, so I
have time to catch up on Comuserve).
I missed the original question – what do you need that OS/2 can't provide?

I meant to imply in my original statement, I knew that SMP was coming to WARP
SMP. Windows NT is not an option currently for SMP and 3DS. WARP with the
SMP extension would be.

And OS/2 2.1 for SMP is a solution NOW.

Not my forte', but that may be in the NEXT version (where have you heard THAT
before?)

Huh? What doesn't work? I've seen Syquest & Iomega drives working.
