Mr. Wood:
I am new to this forum. I am concerned that most of the library is .zipped and
I am running a macintosh (Quadra 800). Before I spend time and MB downloading,
does this preclude me from using these files?
In the past I have not had easy times unzipping. Thank you.

Joel,
Not at all. There's a wide variety of unZIP utilities for the Macintosh, and
the newer ones are just as good as the ones on the PC end.
For now, GO MACFF and search on the keyword UNZIP for programs newer than
mid-1993. This will help ensure the 2.04 standard is supported. Once we have
the okays from the authors, we'll be placing copies of some of these in our
Graphics Support Forum (GO GRAPHSUP), "Compression/UU" library (#11).

Hi Joel,
You need MACzip to unzip files. Try using the MAC File Finder, GO MACFF, to
locate it.
Then you shouldn't have any trouble unzipping files. Becareful, tho, that you
don't download programs for PCs. You won't have any trouble viewing text
files, but programs wouldn't run correctly. Always read the library file
description closely to determine the content of the file before
downloading….especially with real large files. If there is any doubt, leave
a note for the forum staff and let us track down the answer.
Your best bet is too look for the standard formats like AVI, GIF, etc. Players
for these are available for all platforms. If you need help getting you system
set-up for displaying and playing graphics, the first place to stop is the
tutorial on-line in the Graphics Welcome Center, GO GRFWELCOME.
