Hi, This is Barbara Price. Does anyone have a good reference (within the last 6
months) on volcanoes that my 13 year old daughter, Jennie, can use for a
science report? Thanks for your help.
Barbara, There is a book put out the past year, called "Volcanoes" (what a
surprise) that might be somewhat useful. It's written by Stephen J. O'Meara and
Donna Donovan-O'Meara. It has lots of cool pictures, though perhaps not enough
text for a 13-year-old's science report. But you could see if your local
bookstore has a copy in the science section.

There is a mailing list on the internet called "Volcano" I think. I receive
it and it has lots of stuff. If you have e-mail access to the net get the Big
list and see what the address is if you want to check it out.
thanks Martin. I'm new to e-mail and forums, but I'll give this a try. I use
INTERNET for e-mail, but haven't tried any of the other INTERNET features.

Could I trouble you for the address of that "volcano" mail list? It surely
appears on each message you get from it. I collect addresses of geo-related
mail lists for inclusion in INTERN.TXT, which I upload in the library of this
forum now and then. Any CIS user can subscribe to Internet mail-lists, as
described in INTERN.TXT.
What is this "Big list" – a list of mail-lists one can FTP-download from
somewhere? Have you an address for that? FTP is something CIS users cannot
yet do, but I would like to grab it at work and upload the geo-related parts
here.
